Meet Aaron

We have started featuring our trainers, instructors, and staff at Riverside Fitness.


Today we'd like to introduce you to Aaron Rea. River is a NASM certified personal trainer with a bachelors degree in Sports Management and concentration in Athletic Training. His passion for training is helping people reach there goals. Weather it’s strength training, weight loss, or speed and agility, Aaron would do whatever it takes to help and make that goal possible. He specializes in helping athletes take that next step to becoming a better athlete and a better person.

Why did you become a personal trainer? What do you love most about the job?

I became a personal trainer because I love and wanted to help people. Helping people reach their health and fitness goals is always something I enjoy doing. Career opportunities are through the roof. I love training because I have the ability to use my knowledge, experience and love of fitness to help other people and athletes reach their goals.


Do you have a specialty or some other aspect of your education that you’re exceptional at?

I specialize in athletic training (SAQ and Strength training), weight loss, and strength training.


What is the biggest misconception about personal training, in your opinion?

Some of the biggest misconceptions in training are "is my trainer judging me" and "I need to be in decent shape before I start personal training". Trainers are all about the person's success and are always rooting for them and trainers want you to come in as you are.


What is the one statement you wish everyone would know about fitness?

One statement I wish everyone knew is fitness improves quality of life. So many things fitness can improve.


Time for some free advice. What is your top tip for any of the following: losing weight, staying in shape, improving ability, building muscle, etc.?

Weight loss: Manage your hunger. Focus on healthy behaviors and not the number on the scale.

Staying in shape: Sleep Sleep Sleep!! Start your day with water, track your workouts and keep a food diary.

Improving ability: Find out what you're good at.

Building muscle: EAT!!! Can't get big eating skinny! Eat breakfast! Eat protein with each meal (muscle mass) and eat vegetables and fruit with every meal.
